Journey To Adulthood

A Christian Formation Program For Youth

Helping young people grow in faith, friendship, and identity as beloved children of God.

WHAT IS JOURNEY TO ADULTHOOD?

Journey to Adulthood is a six-year Christian formation program designed for middle and high school youth. Built around community, faith exploration, and service, it helps young people discover who they are, how they relate to others, and how God calls them to live in the world.

Youth move through three two-year stages together in a small “cohort”:

  • Rite 13 (Grades 6–7): Celebrating the transition from childhood to early adolescence.

  • J2A (Grades 8–9): Building skills for adulthood, including preparation for a spiritual pilgrimage.

  • 4WARD (Grades 10–11): Exploring gifts, vocation, and Christian leadership.

By journeying with the same peers, youth build deep relationships and trust that grow year by year.

CORE THEMES

Each stage explores the Christian call to:

  • Love God (Spirituality) – Prayer, worship, and spiritual practices.

  • Love Others (Society) – Building community, serving neighbors, and seeking justice.

  • Love Self (Self) – Growing in identity, resilience, and self-awareness.

Lessons include Scripture, discussion, games, crafts, service projects, and occasional trips.

YOUR ROLE AS PARENTS

The most important influence in your child’s spiritual life is you. Journey to Adulthood does not replace your role—it supports it. Leaders walk alongside youth as mentors and guides, while parents are encouraged to:

  • Stay connected to what your child is learning.

  • Talk with them about faith and your own experiences.

  • Join special moments, like the Rite 13 Celebration and the J2A Pilgrimage.

THE GOAL

By the end of the program, youth will move from a “what we believe” faith rooted in family and community to a thoughtful “what I believe” faith—one that is personal, resilient, and grounded in the love of Christ.

Together, we hope Journey to Adulthood will provide your child with:

  • A safe and welcoming community

  • Space to ask big questions

  • Tools to live as faithful disciples in today’s world
